History
This organization was founded by Latina Ferrer. She has a BS in Recreational Therapy and a MA in Human Services. She is also a CTRS (certified therapeutic recreational specialist) She has worked in the Human Services field for more than 20 years; teaching, creating, and advocating for programs which enhanced the quality of life for people with disabilities and our elderly population.
Latina’s multidimensional expertise transcends traditional TR into an infinite creative evolution. She utilizes her art and music background for connecting with individuals on the Autism Spectrum. Latina began her restorative journey, overseeing the daily operations of two Day-Habilitation Programs located in the Bronx and Westchester County, New York and received numerous accolades for her groundbreaking and innovative techniques for optimizing client’s potential and quality of life. She utilizes her teaching platform for motivating and inspiring students to think outside the box by merging scholastic and creative expression in treatment planning. Additionally, Latina’s experience as a social worker in LTC, expanded her knowledge-based efforts towards people living in extended care facilities, spotlighting the importance of cultural competences. She envisions a continuum of didactic services enhancing client’s wellbeing and providing programs and facilities accessible platforms for innovative learning.
